Small Animal Hospital
University of Edinburgh, Roslin,
Edinburgh
Project Value: £5.2 million
Client: University of Edinburgh
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, part
of the University of Edinburgh is one of the premier
Veterinary teaching establishments in the U.K. As
part of its teaching facilities and as a service to
the public it runs a clinical service for Small Animals
treating in the region of 14,000 per year.
The University decided to develop their facilities
to allow them to treat more animals and ensure that
the public and students have access to the most advanced
treatment methods. To do this they needed a new building
purpose built to a very exacting brief. A greenfield
site was chosen for the hospital adjacent to the large
animal facility and close to Edinburgh’s Ring
road in an area zoned for the development of buildings
for Technological and Biotech usage.
The Building provides the following facilities:
- Accommodation for sick animals
- Administration Services
- Treatment Rooms
- Operating Theatres
- Accommodation for Nursing Staff
This project was undertaken in association with
